The control sample MO-4 for MPD is designed to evaluate the performance of flaw detectors for induction and circular magnetization. Sample MO-4 is a disk 15 mm thick, 120 mm in diameter with a central hole 60 mm in diameter. On the cylindrical surface of the disk there is a surface defect in the form of a flat discontinuity of the material perpendicular to the generatrix of the cylinder (for working with induction magnetization flaw detectors).

On the control sample MO-4 there are also:

• surface defect, the plane of which is parallel to the generatrix of the cylinder,
• three subsurface defects in the form of holes 2.5 mm in diameter, located at different depths from the outer cylindrical surface (for working with circular magnetization flaw detectors).
