BP 42 is a fine black magnetic powder, designed for Magnetic Testing (MT) in plain white light. The recommended concentration is between 6 and 9g/L of liquid. BP42 is easily dispersible in special petroleum K5500.

For better results, it is suggested to remove any scale, oxyde, paint particle, from the surface under inspection, as well as grease, oils or other pollutants.

To increase contrast, it is recommended first to apply a thin, even layer of white background B 104B. While magnetising part, apply the magnetic detecting medium prepared with BP 42. Let magnetisation ON for 2 or 3 seconds after spray-stop.

Conforms to standards: AMS 3042, ASME, ASTM-E-1444, ISO 9934-2, NFF 00-090, RCC-M.
