The type A sensor is included in the standard delivery set of the TKM-459 series ultrasonic hardness testers. The sensor is designed for a load of 50N (5 kg).
Probe type "A" is used for hardness control:
- carbon and structural steels,
- surface-hardened products (carburizing, nitriding, hardening with high frequency current, etc.),
- heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, stainless and other steels,
- electroplated coatings (chromium), surfacing,
- products of complex configuration (gear teeth, shafts),
- thin-walled and small-sized products,
- products made of fine-grained materials in the local study of the properties of materials.
Functionally, the sensor consists of a body and a protective cap. The protective cap (nose) of the sensor is used to protect the rod from overload and contact of the rod with foreign objects during measurements. When measuring hardness in hard-to-reach places, it is permissible to remove the protective cap, while the permissible parameters of the holes / grooves will be changed.
The sensor has a built-in Lemo connector. The connecting cable is sold separately.
