For visual and measuring control of abutting parts, parameters of butt and fillet welds, defects and control of the diameters of electrodes and welding wire.
The WG7 meter is made of stainless steel and consists of two components: the main plate and the moving pointer.
Has 4 scales:
MAX-MIN (butt weld height) 0 - 3 mm.
MAX CONCAVITY(maximum concavity) 0 - 20 mm.
MAX CONVEXITY (maximum convexity) 0 - 20 mm.
LEG LENGTH (leg of a fillet weld) 0 - 20 mm.
Usage:
Measuring the height of the fillet weld. Set one of the legs of the main plate to the upper point of the leg of the fillet weld, and lower the movable pointer to the mark of the base of the weld, fasten the screw, remove readings on the LEG LENGTH scale.
Measuring the height of a butt weld. Install the meter as shown in the figure. Take readings on the MAX-MIN scale.
Measuring the thickness of the fillet weld. Install the meter as shown in the figure. The indications of the scales of the CONCAVITY, CONVEXITY meter correspond to the thickness of the fillet weld (concavity, convexity).
To avoid scuffing of the measuring surfaces and breakage, the meter must not be stored together with other instruments. Do not clean the meter scale with amyl acetate. The meter cannot be used as an instrument for other purposes.
